Allan Minnich, Sr. Obituary

Allan E. Minnich, Sr., age 70, of York Township, York, died at 5:06 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of The Rev. Christina H. “Tina” (Hunt) Minnich and the late Susan D. (Yeaple) Minnich.

Born May 1, 1952, in Brogue, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Ethel N. (Shaull) Minnich.  He attended Red Lion Area High School graduating in 1970 from the York County Area Vocational Technical School. During the Viet Nam War, he served in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 1975.  In years since he worked for Cor-Box in Stonybrook, Oxford Container in New Oxford, Red Lion Bus Company in Red Lion, Strine Printing in Emigsville, Brown’s Glass in York and for Southwestern School District’s Transportation Team in Hanover.  He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball and enjoyed coaching girls’ softball.  He loved fishing, Penn State Football, hard shell crabs, and eating out.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, Mr. Minnich is survived by two daughters, Teressa A. Minnich, and her husband Tony Westerholt, of Dover, Jessica A. Nelson, and her husband Christopher, of York;  a son, Allan E. Minnich, Jr., and his companion Kristen Scott, of Stewartstown; a stepson, Todd M. Wagner, and his wife Machelle, of Stewartstown; a step daughter, Chloe A. Wagner, of York; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip Minnich, and his wife Mary, of Brogue, and Neil Minnich, and his wife Cindy, of Felton; and three sisters, Donna Anderson, and her husband Rodney, of Red Lion, Joan Beck, and her husband Dean, of Red Lion, and Kandi Miller, and her husband David, of Norristown and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2022, at Saint James Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Road, Brogue, with The Rev. Kathleen Kuehl officiating, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A reception with the family will immediately follow.  Burial will be private.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York is in charge of arrangements.
