Andrew J. Cameron, age 72, of Elkins, West Virginia, formerly of York, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Mountain Hospice in Belington, West Virginia. He was the husband of Cindy L. (Snyder) Cameron, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Born October 14, 1953, in Parkville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph N. and Dena R. Rose Cameron.
Mr. Cameron retired from Columbia Gas after 34 years of dedicated employment.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Andrew James Cameron, and daughter-in-law Kasey Cameron of Melbourne, Florida; and his daughter, Ashley Marie (Cameron) Richardson, and son-in-law Shane Richardson of Elkins, West Virginia.
He is also survived by his brothers, Peter Cameron and Joseph Cameron, as well as his sister, Dena (Cameron) Alford.
Andy is survived as well by four grandchildren: Cole and Aiden Cameron of Melbourne, Florida, and Barrett and Gunnar Richardson of Elkins, West Virginia.
Andy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, and working on cars—pastimes that brought him great joy and allowed him to share his warmth and skills with those he loved.
A celebration of life will be held on March 31 at 1 PM at a location to be announced. A follow-up to this announcement will provide additional details. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
