Anthony W. Cuffaro, age 72, of Dover Township, Dover, died Monday, April 12, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Emig) Cuffaro.
Born December 8, 1948 in York, he was the son of the late William J. and Rosemarie (Cannistraro) Cuffaro. He was retired as a Correctional Officer for York County Prison after 25 years of service, and prior to that had worked as a cobbler. He was a member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Teamsters Local Union 430, and the International Association of Correctional Officers, and, in his free time, enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going on a daily circuit ride.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Mr. Cuffaro is survived by a son, William Cuffaro, and his wife Nikki, of York; three grandchildren, Reese, Anthony, and Jack; and a great grandson, Asher Cuffaro-Molina. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Shearer, who was his twin, and Mary Rose Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, April 16, 2021 at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 219 S Beaver St, York, with The Very Rev. John Bateman as Celebrant. Viewing will be 2-3:00 PM. Casket Watch will be provided by the York County Prison Honor Guard. Burial will be private. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
