Barbara A. Cassel

Barbara A. Cassel, age 87, of York, died at 6:57 PM Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Kingston Court Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Woodrow Cassel, the late Howard Clever and the late Harry Fry.

Born January 28, 1938, in York County, a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Kline) Resh, she had worked in sewing factories in York.

Mrs. Cassel is survived by a son, Harry A. Fry (Pamela), of York; five stepchildren, Howard Clever Jr. (Nancy), of Windsor, Daniel Clever (Sandy), of Bedford, Steven Clever (Karen), of Red Lion, Cletus Clever (Sharon), of York New Salem, and Susan Myers (Dave), of York; three grandchildren, Randy Fry (Rachel), Jeffrey Fry (Sam), and Abbey Frey (Randy); nine step grandchildren; six great grandchildren, Riley, Austin, Katelyn, Courtlyn, Weston, and Raina; three step great grandchildren; a step great-great grandchild; a sister, Marg Weichart, of Hellam, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Audra Witmer and Florence Simon; and a brother, Daniel Resh.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM.  Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
