Barry Lee Snell, age 75, of Springettsbury Township, York, went to be with the Lord at 4:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2022, at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of Holly A. (Geesey) Snell.
Born March 18, 1947 in York, he was a son of the late Raymond Snell, and the late Nina (Deisinger) Witmer. He served in US Marine Corps in Viet Nam from 1967-1968, and was retired from Johnson Controls and its predecessor, York International, after 38 years of employment. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a member of York County Bass Anglers for 18 years. He fished competitively in tournaments, and had achieved State Championship level. He hosted Fishing The Susquehanna on Channel 49, and was a St. Croix Fishing Rod representative for 15 years. He was a member of Starview Fish and Game.
In addition to his wife of nearly 53 years, Mr. Snell is survived by two daughters, Kristen Leah Seitz, and her husband Joshua, of Manchester, and Allecia Marie Walmer, of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Justin Snell, Alexander Walmer, Mikaela Seitz, and Aiden Seitz; a great grandson, Jasper Snell; a brother, Blaine Snell, of Canada; and two half brothers, Keith Snell, of York, and Arthur Snell, also of York. He was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew David Snell and half sister Dorothy Johnson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Friday, August 5, 2022 at North Hills Bible Church, 1951 North Hills Road, York, with his Pastor, David Moss, officiating. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
