Bradley S. Harman, age 67, of West Manchester Township, York, died at 4:55 PM Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Franklin Square Hospital in Maryland. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Kerchner) Harman.
Born May 26, 1957, in York, he was a son of the late Harry W. Harman, Jr. and the late Betty J. (Bury) Harman. He retired as the Director of Buildings and Grounds for York City Schools. He started working with the Parks and Rec, and moved to the Electrical Bureau at the City of York. He owned his own electrical business for 4 years, then went to work as an electrician for the Days Inn in York. Brad then went into management and was general manager of several hotels throughout Pennsylvania. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Zeredatha-White Rose Lodge #451, Free and Accepted Mason. Brad was also a member of the CPAAA (Central Pennsylvania Antique Arms Association).
In 1981, Brad received a kidney from his oldest brother Phil. In 2008, Brad received his second kidney transplant from his youngest sister Tracey. After receiving his first transplant, Brad participated in three World Transplant Games and five US Transplant Games.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Mr. Harman is survived by a brother, Arthur D. “Oss” Harman, and his wife Kim, of York; two sisters, Pamela L. Sheely, and her husband Lynn, of York, and Tracey A. Myers, and her husband Lee, of York; her sister-in-law, Jody Harman; and brother- in-law, Michael E. Myers. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Philip M. Harman, and Harry W. Harman, III; and a sister, Sarah J. “Sally” Myers. Brad is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great niece.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, December 30, 2024, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with his Pastor, The Rev. Kyle Gott, officiating. Viewings will be from 1:00-2:45 PM Sunday, with Masonic Services at 2:45 PM, and 1:00-2:00 PM Monday. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to “Transplant Foundation” and mailed to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
