Carl E. Spangler, age 96, of Springettsbury Township, York, died at 2:58 PM Friday, May 22, 2026, at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Janet L. (Bortner) Spangler.

Born November 29, 1929, in York, he was a son of the late Alvin E. and Henrietta S. (Hoffman) Spangler. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from York Tape and Label as an Ink Lab Technician.

Mr. Spangler is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Godfrey, and her husband Stephen, of York. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Brenneman.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:30 PM Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with Chaplain John Lanza officiating.  Military rites will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
