Charles H. Bowman

Charles H. Bowman, age 79, of Manchester Township, York, died at 3:14 PM Monday, September 26, 2022. He was the husband of Rebecca L. (Mader) Bowman.

Born January 16, 1943, in York, a son of the late Raymond L. Bowman, Sr. and the late Lillian E. (Fager) Bowman, he was a graduate of Central High School.  He retired as an Optician at Hunters Hill Eye Center after 36 years of employment and, after retirement, worked as the custodian for Messiah United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of Messiah United and its Trinity Sunday School class.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Mr. Bowman is survived by two sons, Robert E. Bowman, and his wife Jody, of Manchester, and Scott A. Bowman, and his wife Karen, of York; three grandchildren, Travis Bowman, and his wife Shelby, Marissa Bowman, and her fiancé, Tyler Dubbs, and Aaron Bowman; one great grandson, Carter Bowman; and two sisters, Delores Runkle, of York and Mary Ann Pugh, of Texas. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Raymond L. Bowman, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 North Beaver Street, York, with The Rev. Randy Zeiler and The Rev. Mitch Galloway officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM. A reception with the family will immediately follow. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is charge of arrangements.
