Obituary


LOVE, Charles Richard, “Chuck”, age 72, passed away Wednesday, March 17th
, comfortably at home surrounded by family. He was born in Newark, NJ on April 30, 1948, the son of the late Arthur and Laura
(Friedman) Love, he attended Edward Williams College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. After college
he began his career in corporate retail, working for Bamberger’s and Alexander’s. In 1987, Chuck
accepted a position with McCrory Stores, relocating his family to York, PA where he worked as a Buyer
and then a Divisional Merchandise Manager. In 1996, he transitioned to human resources with
successful roles at TMP Worldwide and Computer Aid, Inc. where he was Director of HR and Recruiting.
In semi-retirement, he worked part-time at Williams-Sonoma honing his self-taught culinary skills,
teaching on-site technique classes. He was a member of Temple Beth Israel, served on the JCC board,
and more recently as a Senior Consultant and mentor for Susquehanna Score.

Chuck was a huge fan of music, specifically of jazz and blues, was an avid cyclist, fast car enthusiast,
adored classic cinema, was a fashion aficionado, and never missed a Showtime boxing match. He
absolutely loved to travel with Linda, especially if their travels took them to Italy. He also enjoyed
entertaining family and friends with his delicious culinary creations.

Preceded in death by son Jeremy, Chuck is survived by his devoted wife Linda (Brown) with whom he
celebrated his 50th anniversary in June of 2020; doting father to daughter Jaclyn (Chris Shuplock) of
Pittsburgh; son Brian and his wife Sarah, and his cherished grandchildren Jacob and Connor of
Pottstown, and countless cousins and friends. He forever instilled a strong work ethic in his children and
left a legacy of kindness to all he encountered.

Funeral services will be private, with burial at South Hill Hebrew Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral
Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York is in charge of arrangements.
