Cheylin Garber Obituary

Cheylin K. Garber

Zions View - Cheylin Kendal Garber, age 34, Conewago Township, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Wellspan York Hospital as a result of the recurrence of Cervical Cancer.

Born August 12, 1986 in York, she was the daughter of Randy E. and Tonya A. (Jordan) Garber. She was a 2004 graduate of Northeastern High School. Cheylin was a waitress all her life because she loved meeting new people and brightening their day. On days when she was bored she would sometimes go for lottery tickets to scratch, one time winning $1000 and then spending it all on her son, brother, and parents that Christmas, she was very giving and just wanted everyone to be happy.

She had a real love for animals, bringing stray's home, one time coming home with an entire litter of kittens that were found by the river, which we fed and found good homes for. She loved cookouts at her parent's house, always saying we need to invite more people even though our yard was already full. Her motto was "the more and merrier." Her favorite holiday was Christmas; shopping for her son, which gave her so much joy and excitement watching him open his gifts.

Cheylin had a beautiful soul and always put others before herself. She had two brothers, Kolt, and Nathan. She thought the world of both, and looked up to them even though Kolt was younger than her. She was also fiercely protective of them both.

She was daddy's little girl or "Sissy" as he called her. She and her mom's favorite song to each other was "You are my Sunshine" which her mother taught her at a very young age, and sang it to each other all of her 34 years. Her pap gave her the nickname "Stink" which we are all still trying to figure out how that came about.

One of her greatest joys was going to Bethany Beach and Florida with her son Brayden and brother Kolt. She always said Brayden was her best accomplishment and a few days ago said to her mom "Mom, it brings me comfort that when I'm no longer here I know Brayden will still be loved." Then she said when she gets to Heaven she knows her brother, Nathan will be waiting for her and she is going to spend it with her brother showering him with hugs and kisses.

She had faith; she believed in God, she knew Heaven and her brother would be waiting for her.

In addition to her parents, she leaves her memory to be cherished by her son Brayden, her brother Kolt Garber of Seven Valleys and grand daughter of Al and Ruth (Schaffner) Jordan "Pap and Mammaw", who she adored; and also a grand daughter of Ralph Garber, and his wife Verna, and Darlene Ferguson, aunts, uncles many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Nathan Garber, who passed away from Osteosarcoma at the age of 21.
