Christine L. Ryan

Christine L. Ryan, age 76, of York, died Friday, October 4, 2024, at UPMC Memorial.  She was the wife of the late Melvin R. Ryan, with whom she shared 60 years of love before his passing in 2022.

Born in York on December 4, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Grace (Barnhart) Guise.

Chris was most passionate about her family, devoting her time to children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling the world on cruise ships with her husband and attending concerts throughout the U.S. with her son. She was also a lifelong Hershey Bears season ticket holder.

She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Stokes, and her husband Michael, of York; a son, Daryl Ryan, of York; three grandchildren, Tyler Royer, and his wife Sara, Caitlin Bing-Zaremba, and Lauren Bing-Zaremba; and a sister, Lynn Cook. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Ryan Bing-Zaremba, and a brother, Ralph “Spark” Guise.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM Friday, October 11, 2024, at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York. Viewing will be from 12:00-1:30 PM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
