Clair E. Kohler

Clair E. Kohler, age 94, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 8:10 AM Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lois Marie (Snell) Kohler.

Born January 8, 1929, in York, a son of the late Calvin J. and Ida V.M. (Hartwich) Kohler, he retired in 1994 as a Sergeant with the Spring Garden Township Police Department.  He also served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Bethany York Church, White Rose VFW #556, Victory Athletic Association, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #73, and Dallastown American Legion Post #605.

Mr. Kohler is survived by two sons, Jed E. Kohler, and his wife Tish, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Jeffrey E. Kohler, and his wife Cindy, of Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren, Brian Kohler, and Jessica Leahy; and six great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Bethany York Church, 1401 Mount Rose Avenue, York, with his Pastor, Wayne Heberlig, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
