Clayton B. Ort, Sr., age 88, of Newberry Township, York Haven, died Monday April 11, 2022, at his residence. He was the husband of Iris J. (Weymer) Ort.
Born January 8, 1934, in Newberry Township, a son of the late Walter and Florence (Schenk) Ort, he served in the US Navy Veteran during the Korean War. He was retired as a delivery driver for Rakestraw’s and Dolly Madison Ice Cream and had also worked as a farm hand. He was a member of Paddletown Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, and his Masonic affiliations included Camp Hill Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons; Scottish Rite Club and , Zembo Temple Shrine.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ort is survived by two sons, Clayton B. Ort, Jr., of Etters and Steven L. Ort, of Lewisberry; a daughter, Karen E. Goodling (Lonnie) of New Cumberland; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Pauline Schaefer, of York; and a brother, Barry Ort, of Florida. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Billie Ort; and seven brothers, Herman, Clarence, Charles, Clair, Donald, Ronald, and Dale Ort.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Paddletown Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, 355 Church Road, Newberrytown, with his Pastor, Ryan Whisel, officiating. Viewing will be 9-10:00 AM. Burial will be at Paddletown Cemetery with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
