Clyde Horner Obituary

Clyde C. Horner, age 86, of York Township, Red Lion, died at 4:40 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Wellspan York Hospital.  He was the husband of Audrey P. (Lehr) Horner.
Born January 28, 1936 in York, he was the only child of the late Clyde L. and Clara (Chaney) Horner.  He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania Banker's Association Trust School at Bucknell University, as well as the American Banking Institute.  He was retired as Vice President, and Senior Trust officer of Southern Pennsylvania Bank.  He had also served in the Army National Guard.
He was currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown, where he served on the Finance Committee, and was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ in York.  At Trinity he had served as a Deacon and Elder, past president of its Consistory, a member of the Prospect Hill Cemetery Association and Greenmount Cemetery Association.
His Masonic affiliations included Zeredatha-White Rose Lodge #451, Free and Accepted Masons;  Harrisburg Consistory, York Commander Knights Templar; Howell Royal Arch Chapter, York Council #21; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, York Forest #30; Zembo Temple Shrine, Harrisburg (past Potentate); Tall Cedar Foundation; 100 Million Dollar Club of Zembo Temple; PCM of Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children; Advisor to the Continental Chapter of Order of DeMolay; White Rose Scottish Rite Club; Square Club of York; Zembo Temple Wills and Gifts Committee; and Zembo Temple Insurance Committee.
He had also served on the Finance Committee and Assistant Treasurer of the Children’s Home of York, Finance Committee of Hoffman Home for Youth, member of Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), member of Economics Club of York, member of the York Fair Association, Budget Panel Chairman of the United Fund of York, Industrial Chairman of the March of Dimes, York Township Zoning Board, Board of  Governors of the York/Adams Chapter of the American Institute of Banking, Council Member of Administration of York County Bankers Association, member of Estate Planning Council of Central PA, and Assistant Treasurer of the 225th Anniversary Celebration of York.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Horner is survived by a son, Kevin A. Horner, and his wife Eugenia, of Red Lion; a daughter, Katrina A. Moore, and her husband Robert, of Jacobus; three grandchildren, Julian Lohss, Ian Moore, and his wife Lillian), and Austin Moore, and his wife Kristen; and three great grandchildren, Elina, Luka, and Natalie.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, June 10, 2022 at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with the Pastor, Patti Bream, officiating.  Viewings will be 6-7:00 PM Thursday and 9-10:00 AM Friday.  Masonic Service will begin at 6:45 PM Thursday.  Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
