Constance J. "Connie" West Obituary

Constance J. “Connie” West, age 85, of Newberry Township, York Haven, died at 5:30 AM Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Dennis E. West.

Born February 13, 1940, in Somerset, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Buchanan) Sarver.  She retired as co-owner Luddy’s Seafood Restaurant in Goldsboro, which she owned with her husband, and then worked as a cook for Etters VFW Post 537.

Mrs. West is survived by a daughter, Lorri N. Thomson, of Etters; two sons, Matthew E. Rice, and his wife Laura, of Mineola, Texas, and Keith A. Rice, and his wife Brenda, of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Kim Rice, of Etters; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Sarver, of Philadelphia; and a sister, Karen Sarver, of Somerset. She was also preceded in death by a son, Todd W. Rice.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, with Pastor Deb Kohr officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
