Crystal L. Petersen, age 63, of Manchester Township, York, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Born in York Hospital, she was the third child of the late Sylvan Lemkelde and June Fox Lemkelde, she attended York High School, and ultimately York College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Records Administration.

Upon graduation, she moved to Morristown, New Jersey to pursue her career. This is where she met her future husband, Christopher Petersen. In 1986 they married and eventually moved to Nazareth, Pennsylvania where they successfully raised two wonderful children together. Over the years she was enthusiastically involved in equestrian activities with her daughter and thoroughly enjoyed spending her summers at the beach in Wildwood, New Jersey with her family. She had a love for gardening, birds, and wildlife from her days growing up on her family's farm, and cherished quiet time at home as opposed to keeping busy. 

Crystal Petersen will be deeply missed and is survived by her children, Courtney E. Petersen, of Vienna, Virginia, Cameron Petersen, and wife Sarah Petersen, of Charlottesville, Virginia; former husband, Christopher Petersen; brothers, Keith R. Lemkelde, and Jeffrey K. Lemkelde, and his wife Brenda, of Manchester Pennsylvania, and many relatives.

Private burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens for immediate family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at Manchester Assembly of God, 4115 Board Road, Manchester PA, 17345 at 12:30pm, with visitation to follow. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is directing arrangements.
