Donald E. Weir, age 82, of Jacobus, died at 1:25 AM Saturday, January 23,
2021 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Elaine M. (Nauss) Weir.
Born February 25, 1938 in Dallastown, he was the son of the late Charles E.
and Emma R. (Ness) Weir. He was a graduate of William Penn High School,
and was retired from The York Dispatch where he worked as a typesetter.
After retirement he also worked as a handyman for Drovers Bank. He was a
member of Salem Lutheran Church, 13th Ward Political Club, Viking Athletic
Association, Victory Athletic Association, Vigilant Social Club, and the Hawk
Gunning Club.
Mr. Weir is survived by two daughters, Gwen J. Clauter, and her husband Jim,
of Belair, Maryland, and Carey E. Eberly, and her companion Meg Dalton, of
Dallastown; a son, Steven D. Weir, and his wife Karen, of Perry Hall,
Maryland; five grandchildren, Noah B. Eberly, Nathan S. Weir, Nicole E.
Clauter, and Alison G. Hernan, and Stephanie R. Weir; and a first great great
grandchild expected in May. He was also preceded in death by two sisters,
Delores Aldrich and Grace Kouse.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 AM Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at
Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York,
with his Pastor, The Rev. Tina Minnich officiating. Viewing will be 10:30-11:30
AM. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Live stream of services will be
