Doris M. Ness, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on June 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. At the age of 90, she lived a life full of laughter, and dedication to those she held dear.

Born in Newberrytown, PA, Doris found immense happiness in the simple pleasures of life: a good book, a scoop of ice cream, and an occasional Coca-Cola. A lifelong fan of country music, she cherished the adventures she shared with her husband of 66 years, Raymond E. Ness (who preceded her in death). Particularly a weekend dance, their motorcycle rides touring the US, and treasured times at the mountain house.

Doris’ greatest pride and joy were her family. Survived by her devoted daughters, Brenda Bonafair (Michael) and Beverly Dennis(Ron) who lovingly cared for her in her later years. She was a doting grandmother to her grandsons and “granddaughters”, W. Allen Klinefelter (Kyla) and Ryan Bonafair (Kori).

Beyond her family life, Doris served as a notary public for over forty years, working with several auto auctions throughout the area, and alongside her husband she successfully operated a car dealership and a furniture business.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Doris’ life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Paddletown Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 355 Church Road, Newberrytown, with Pastor Ryan Whisel officiating.  Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM.  Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery.  William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
