Dorothy O'Berry

Dorothy O’Berry, age 76, of Manchester Township, York, died at 3:13 PM Sunday, February 26, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of the late James A. O’Berry, Sr.

Born January 22, 1947, in Allendale, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Edward and Sarah L. (Hayward) Spellman, she was retired from the Hotel Yorktowne where she worked as the housekeeping manager.  She was a member of Bible Tabernacle Christian Center.

Mrs. O’Berry is survived by her five children, Ricky O’Berry, of York, Sherry A. O’Berry, of Henrico, Virginia, Tracy M. O’Berry, of Florida, James A. O’Berry, Jr., of Harrisburg, and Pamela Y. O’Berry, of Midlothian, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Kennedy, of York; and four brothers, McArthur Spellman, of York, Rev. Harold Spellman, of Somerset, Edward Spellman, of York, and James Spellman, of York. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie Lee Spellman, and Buddy Spellman.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2023, at Bible Tabernacle Christian Center, 361 South Pine Street, York, PA 17403, with Bishop Carl H. Scott officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Workinger Semmel Funeral Home and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
