Douglas R. Ingram Obituary

Douglas R. Ingram, age 78, of Dover, died at 5:08 AM Sunday, August 17, 2025, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis A. (Dentler) Ingram.

Born March 20, 1947, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Richard L. and Gladys (McGonigal) Ingram.  He was a 1965 graduate of Littlestown High School, maintaining lifelong friendships with his classmates.   He then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was a recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60.  He was retired from PPG Auto Glass after 20 years of employment and had a great passion for hunting and fishing as well as trap and skeet shooting.  He hunted all of North America, and even in Africa, developing many long-lasting friendships.  He was a member of West York VFW Post 8951, Dover Fish and Game Associates, York-Adams Game and Fish Association, and the National Rifle Association.

He was a loving husband, father and friend and, in addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tracy L. Ingram, and her companion of 23 years, husband John Seiger, who considered as his “son-in-law.  He is also survived by a brother, Daniel H. Ingram, of Dover; two sisters, Diana Stevens, of Dover, and Donna Klempke, of Westminster, Maryland; and his best friend of 54 years, Jim Wilson, of Shiloh.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Monday, August 25, 2025, at Willliam E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, York, with The Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating.  Viewing will be 9-10:30.  Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
