Elaine M. Hinderer, age 92, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 6:30 AM, Monday, January 10, 2022 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Rodger E. Hinderer.
Born September 8, 1929, in York, a daughter of the late Roy “Hack” and Marie (Frey) Fuhrman, she was employed at Danskin for nearly 40 years in the sewing department and prior to that worked for John H. Myers and Red Feather Agency. She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Hinderer is survived by two sons, Brian L. Hinderer, and his wife Brenda, of Dallastown, and Bradley L. Hinderer, and his wife Jerri, of Hanover; a daughter, Wendy J. Lane, and her husband James, Jr., of York; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Robert, Duane, Alex, Hollie, James, III and Brett; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Terry and Steve Fuhrman, both of York; and a sister Linda Stambaugh, of York. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lavere “Duck” Fuhrman; and a sister, Nancy Mathison.
Elaine was a sweet woman, always putting others needs before her own. She especially loved hosting her family and friends at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She volunteered for many Church activities over the years and served on the ladies auxiliary of Friendship Fire Company.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 2164 Mount Zion Road, York, with her Pastor, The Reverend Brian McClinton, officiating. Private burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York is in charge of arrangements.
