Elizabeth W. Stick Obituary

Elizabeth W. Stick passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was the daughter of Airie K. and Harry V. Wareheim who founded the Hanover Canning Company in 1924. The company is now called Hanover Foods.

Mrs. Stick was a 1942 graduate of Eichelberger Senior High, and a 1944 graduate of Chevy Chase Junior College.  After moving to York in 1953 she became active in volunteerism with various charitable organizations. She was a member of the York Historical Society, the Junior League of York, and Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She is the mother of two sons, Wesley D. Stick, Jr. and Michael D. Stick, Sr., both of Naples, Florida; six grandchildren, Abraham D. Stick, of Reinholds, Benjamin W. Stick, of Marietta, Georgia, Christine M. Klunk (Jim), of Hanover, D. Dow Stick, of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Michael D. Stick, Jr. (Katie), of Hanover, and Sara E. Stick, of Smyrna, Georgia; and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alan R. Warehime, J. William Warehime, and Robert H. Warehime.

Viewing and funeral services will be private, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
