Obituary

Eugene E. Sanger, age 80, of Newberry Township, Manchester, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Norma Jean (Laird) Sanger.

Born December 26, 1942, in Lewisberry, son of the late Frank E. and Lovinia E. (Arnold) Sanger. Eugene was a member of the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of York Haven. He graduated from Northeastern High School in 1961 and later worked at the York Haven Paper Mill. Most recently he was the owner of Laird and Sanger Body Shop.

Mr. Sanger enjoyed spending time with his six sisters, Rochelle Sanger, Becky Richards, Frannie Schaszberger, Julia McCartney, and Jennifer Foster, all of York Haven, and Kathy Miller, of Thomasville; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Celebration honoring the life of Eugene E. Sanger to be held on October 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM at the Sanger Family residence, York Haven, PA. Devotion will be held from 12:00-12:30 PM.
