Evelyn “Jean” Hamer, age 91, of Mount Wolf, died at 8:25 PM Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of the late Walter Hamer, Jr.
Born March 11, 1932, in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Edna (Hartman) Krause. She was retired as Personnel Director for GC Murphy Company and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and its Sunday School.
Mrs. Hamer is survived by a son, Daniel L. Hamer, and his wife Crystal, of Edgemoor, South Carolina; a daughter, Barbara J. Altland, and her husband Gerald, of Mount Wolf; seven grandchildren, Brock Hamer, and his wife Becky, Blake Hamer, Wendy Gulden, Christie Swengel, and her husband Darren, Heather Enriquez, and her husband Joe, Heather Maxfield, and Jeromey Altland; twelve great grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, and Brett Lemmon, Brianna and Justin Hamer, Autumn Bibler, and her husband Christien, and Meyer Schriver, and his wife Kendall, Sophia Swengel, Mackenzie Botterbusch, Owen Demmitt, Donovian Maxfield, Camryn Maxfield, Europe and Zamora Altland, L.J. Crerand; and six great great grandchildren, Landyn, Brayleigh, and Rowyn Lemmon, Jaici Strahosky, River and Liam Botterbusch and Aurora; and a sister, Kathryn Ross. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, William, James, John, Harry, and Rodger Krause; and two sisters, Helen Dinet and Betty Miles.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester with Debbi Walker officiating. Viewing will be 9-10:00 AM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
