Fay Lambert Obituary

Fay Lambert, 64, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina surrounded by her immediate family.

She was born on September 8, 1960, in York, Pennsylvania to Garland Chapman and Joan Chapman Fisher. A 1978 graduate from Northeastern High School, Fay retired from the New Cumberland Depot with over 15 years of proud service.

One of five siblings, there is no question where Fay got her fiery personality. It was practically guaranteed the day she was born. “A family tradition” so to speak. Fay considered her greatest legacy to be her daughter, Jessica, born in 1982 to Fay and Don Lambert.

A loving grandmother to her two grandchildren, Thomas and Evangeline, many may picture her as a typical crocheting grandma. Such was not the case with Fay Lambert. Instead, she spent her time riding motorcycles and donning leather jackets. It became a tradition for her Christmas gifts to be Harley Davidson memorabilia or Eagle’s gear.

Even with her spunk, her love for her family was never in question. In 2023, Fay moved to a house in North Myrtle Beach to be near her twin sister, Kay. She would reside there until her passing. Her home was adorned with pictures of her closest family, gifts, and mementos of their achievements lining every wall. Ever a lover of nature, Fay hand-built her back patio so that she could enjoy South Carolina’s environment. Even in retirement, she couldn’t sit still. Her motorcycle always sat parked just outside her door, ready for a ride at any moment.

Fay was preceded in death by her father Garland Chapman, mother Joan Chapman Fisher, and brother Francis Chapman.

She is survived by her sisters Karen Wilson and Kay Yeager, brother James Chapman, daughter Jessica Brooks, and grandchildren Thomas Morehead and Evangeline Brooks.

Filled with a passion for life, Fay was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. “Go rest high on that mountain.”

A Celebration of Fay’s Life will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2025, at The Falls Crab Shack, in Cly, Pennsylvania. Private burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown.

Ocean View Funeral Home and Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, are assisting the family.
