Frances E. Bender

Frances E. Bender, age 99, of York Township, York, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at The Haven at Springwood. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Bender.

Born March 6, 1922, a daughter of the late Edmund and Izetta (Sturtevant) Fielding, she was retired as a manager and buyer for Conner’s Children’s Store after more than 20 years of employment.

Mrs. Bender is survived by three daughters, Melody A. Kauffman, and her husband Lee, of Hellam, Madeline Louise Donahue and her husband William, of Madison Heights, Michigan, and Sandra J. Shaull, of Red Lion; two sons, Edward D. Bender, and his wife Shonna, of Parrish, Florida, and Howard Sheeley, and his wife Theresa, of York; a brother, Maynard Fielding, of Madrid, Spain; a sister, Jeanette Freed, of York; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 32 great great grandchildren; and four step great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren; a brother, Edmund Fielding; two sisters, Marlene Ferguson, and Fannie LaRoca; and a son-in-law, Larry Shaull.  

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2021 at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with Pastor Nathan Shaffer, officiating. Visitation will be 1-2:00 PM. Private burial will be at Suburban Memorial Gardens. Live stream of services will be available at www.Facebook.com/KuhnerAssociates
