On July 19, 2026, Frances (Fry) Hoffmaster, 96, passed away peacefully in Mifflinburg, PA surrounded by a loving family who provided her end-of life care.

She was born on September 14, 1929, in York, PA to Herbert Fry and Effie (Lightner) Fry, one of thirteen siblings.

She married Raymond Hoffmaster on June 24, 1950, and they made their home in York, PA.  She held several jobs over her lifetime but eventually retired from Danskin. She and Raymond were members of the Pleasureville Christian Church.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Vicki E. Ruth of York; her son, Rodney Hoffmaster, and his wife Darlene of Mifflinburg, PA.  Also surviving are grandchildren: Andrea Runkle and her significant other Zach Rauch of Selinsgrove, PA; Brett Hoffmaster and wife Jennifer of Mifflinburg; and Kerri Kauffman and her husband Colton of Millmont, PA. In addition, there are nine deeply loved great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her spouse Raymond Hoffmaster of 73 years, her parents, several brothers and sisters, along with other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Pleasureville Christian Church, 2606 North Sherman Street, York, with Pastor David Kominsky officiating. Viewing will be from 12:30-1:30 PM. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
