Frank H. Evans
Newberry Twp. - Frank H. Evans, age 73, of Newberry Township, Etters, died at 4:31 AM Sunday, January 10, 2021 at UPMC-Harrisburg. He was the husband of Edna J. (Welliver) Evans.
Born May 31, 1947 in Clearfield, a son of the late James and Loretta (Dunlap) Evans, he was a US Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam War and was retired from Harley Davidson. He was a lifetime member of Newberry Township Fire Department, where he was the Fire Police Captain, York County Fire Police Association, and served as the Fire Police Lieutenant of Strinestown Community Fire Department for ten years. He was also a member of Vibrant Christian Church.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by a son, Frank H. Evans, Jr., and his fiancé Christina Laboy; a daughter, Kimberly J. Steffenhagen, and her husband Keith, of Boyertown; two grandchildren, Kristina and Kristian Steffenhagen; a brother, Donald Evans; and a sister, Janet Sweitzer. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa M. Evans; a brother, James "Pork" Evans; and two sisters, Mary Doll and Martha Miller. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Louise Tremblay.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, January 15, 2021 at The Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York. Viewing will be 9-10:00 AM. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with military honors presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The service will be live streamed at www.Facebook.com/KuhnerAssociates.
