Franklin E. Beard, Sr., age 73, of Newberry Township, York Haven, died Friday, January 3, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Deborah A. (Fetrow) Beard.

Born July 28, 1951, in Yocumtown, he was a son of the late Richard E. and Freda R (Tusing) Beard.  He retired from Frontier Phone Company, where he had worked for many years, and was a member of the Goldsboro Fireman’s Club and a former member of Etters VFW Post 537.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Beard is survived by two sons, Frankling E. Beard, Jr., of York Haven, and Todd A. Beard, and his wife Roberta, of York Haven; five grandchildren three step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; three brothers, Homer C. Beard, of York Haven, Frederick E. Beard, of Mountville, and Rodney E. Beard, of Florida; and two sisters, Laura E. Heineman, of Maryland, and Mae M. Milletics, of Indiana. He was also preceded in death by a grandson; a brother, Robert E. Beard; and a sister, Sarah A. Eby.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 Monday January 13, 2025, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, with Pastor Jonathan Bowers officiating. Viewings will be from 1:00-3:00 Sunday and 1:00-2:00 Monday. Burial will be in Tri County Memorial Gardens.
