Franklin S. Tate, Sr., age 71, of West Manchester Township, York, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Leiphart) Tate.

Born July 8, 1954, in York, he was a son of the late Arthur E. and Carlyn J. (Judy) Tate. He retired as a Crane Operator for Consolidated Scrap Resources and was a member of the West Manchester Township Farmer and Sportsman Association, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed going to casinos.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Tate is survived by five children, Carlyn Medley, of Mooresville, North Carolina, Franklin S. Tate, Jr., of York, Vickie Walters, of York, Jennifer Smith, of Spring Grove, and Clifford Hillbert, III, of York; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Cecelia Schmuck. He was preceded in death by numerous brothers.

Funeral services are to be scheduled for a later date. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
