Fred F. Bergdoll, Jr. Obituary

Fred F. Bergdoll Jr, a man whose heart was as big as his love for dogs, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024. His life was a tapestry woven with passion, dedication, and cherished memories.

Fred was born to the late Dr. Fred F. and Virginia A. (Kauffelt) Bergdoll and raised in York, Pennsylvania. Fred was a proud graduate of York Suburban High School. His journey continued at Lehigh University, where he not only excelled academically, but also left an indelible mark on the football field.

Fred’s professional path led him to a successful career as a financial advisor—a role he embraced for over four decades. His wisdom and guidance touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to seek his counsel.

Football was more than a sport to Fred; it was a symphony of camaraderie and strategy. He cheered passionately for the Baltimore Ravens and reveled in the spirited clashes of Lehigh University Football. Whether in the stands or in front of the TV, Fred’s enthusiasm was contagious.

Beyond the gridiron, Fred found solace in tending to his lawn. The meticulous care he bestowed upon it mirrored the love he had for life’s simple pleasures. And speaking of love, his Jaguars—those sleek, purring machines—were a testament to his automotive passion.

Movies were Fred’s escape, his ticket to other worlds. From classic films to blockbusters, he relished every frame. But above all, he treasured the moments spent with family and friends. His heart swelled with pride for his only son, Fred Bergdoll III (affectionately known as Zak), who married Jen Hall Bergdoll. Together, they blessed Fred with two delightful grandchildren, Aisley and Kelsey.

His wife, Lyn Buckler Bergdoll, stood by his side for more than three decades, creating a partnership built on love, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Lyn’s son, David, his wife, Claudia, and two children, Dylan and Morgan, added to the richness of their family.

Fred’s life was interwoven with love and loss. His sister and brother, Frederica Bergdoll Roberts and Jon Bergdoll, preceded him in death, leaving a void that could never be filled. Yet, he found strength in the bonds with his surviving brothers, Jim and George.

Fred F. Bergdoll Jr. will forever be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the way he made everyone feel like family. As we say our goodbyes, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a life that touched hearts, inspired others, and left pawprints on the souls of those who knew him.

Rest in peace, dear Fred. May your spirit continue to shine brightly, just like the headlights of your cherished Jaguars, as you journey beyond the horizon.
