George O. “Ollie” Hartig, age 88, of Dover Township, York, went to be with the Lord at 7:20 AM, on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Autumn House East. He was the husband of the late Carolyn L. Hartig for 65 years.
Born September 6, 1933, in Frostburg, Maryland, the son of the late Martha (Eisel) and George Hartig, Jr., he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War after graduating from William Penn in 1951. He worked as a retail store manager and retired from Enterprise Car Rental. Mr. Hartig also worked at Franklin Discount Store, Roger’s Toy Store, Stroehmann’s Bakery and TJ Maxx. He was a member of the former York Jaycees, enjoyed golfing and attended Providence Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Hartig is survived by two daughters, Melissa A. Church and her husband Peter J. and Pamela S. Parker and her husband Robert, both of York and a grandson Brad Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, November 15, 2021, at Providence Presbyterian Church, 1215 Church Road, York, with Darryl MacPherson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
