George E. McCarty, Jr., age 86, of East Manchester Township, Manchester, died at 10:50 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Janet A. (Boyles) McCarty of 64 years.

Born June 12, 1939, in York, a son of the late George E. Sr., and Dorothy M. (Campbell) McCarty. He was an Air Force Veteran and retired from York International, and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Mr. McCarty is survived by three sons, Russell E. McCarty, of Sykesville, Maryland, David M. McCarty, of Manchester, and Douglas C. McCarty, and his wife Lorissa, of York; a daughter in law, Yvette McCarty; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Connie Garver. He was also preceded in death by a son, Nathan P. McCarty, Sr.; and a sister, Anna Sheffer.

Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of private funeral arrangements.
