George Edward Ruhlman, 73, of East Berlin, died peacefully in his sleep at Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy on Sunday, April 10, 2022. Gloria J (Mundy) Ruhlman, his loving wife of 54 years was by his side.
George was born in York, PA on July 23, 1948. George was the second of six children born to the late Emanuel Sylvester and Mary Ellen (Weaver) Ruhlman. Retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after 30 years of service in 1996, George was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved spending time on his farm or at his son’s cabin in West Virginia.
He is survived by siblings, Mary Ellen Ruhlman, Dover, PA, John Ruhlman, Mathias, WV, Emanuel (Virginia) Ruhlman, Wardensville, WV, Paul (Wendy) Ruhlman, Thomasville, PA and Gary Ruhlman, Dover, PA.
George was the loving father of Emanuel “Sonny” Ruhlman of East Berlin, PA and Karen (Matthew) Smith of Thomasville, PA. He was the doting grandfather of Tanner Smith (Alexandra Brechbiel) of York Springs, PA. He also had three beloved dogs, Buck, Sis and Ameria.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, April 16, 2022 at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, York, with The Rev. Dr. Ronald Oelrich officiating. Visitation will be 1-2:00 PM. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
