Gerald Kornbau Obituary

Gerald L. Kornbau, age 102, of Lititz, formerly of York, died at 11:19 AM Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Landis Homes Senior Living Community, in Lititz. He was the husband of the late Jean L. (Strine) Kornbau.

Born February 26, 1923, in York, he was the son of the late Kurwin Kornbau, and the late Esta (Ferree) Rhoads. He was a graduate of The Milton Hershey School and then served in active duty with the US Coast Guard during WWII. After discharge from the Coast Guard, he worked as a carpenter and later owned and operated Spry Launderette and Stoneybrook Launderette. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and Shiloh American Legion Post #791 and attended Paddletown Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Newberrytown.

Mr. Kornbau is survived by two daughters, Cheryl L. Keener, and her husband Larry, of Felton, and Tenley L. Geyer, and her husband Miles, of Red Lion; two sons, Jeffrey L. Kornbau, and his wife LeeAnne, of Lititz, and Jerry L. Kornbau, and his wife Bonnie Price, of Pittsburg, California; eleven grandchildren, Duane, David, Ned Jr., Angela, Cory, Kevin, Amy, Tami, Bradley, Melissa, and Kayla; seventeen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and a half sister Nancy Sullivan. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina; a sister Treva Axe; and a half sister, Hilda Young.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, with Pastor Ryan Whisel officiating. Visitation will be 9-10:00 AM. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
