Gerald G. “Gerry” Deacon, age 83, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 3:23 PM Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of Joan A. (Betlejewski) Deacon.

Born August 10, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late George and Antoinette (Klimek) Deacon.  He retired as a Systems Manager for the Maryland Steelworker Credit Union and had been an active member of the JCC in York. As a child he was a member of the Salvation Army Boys Club.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, Mr. Deacon is survived by two sons, Jeffrey G. Deacon, and his wife Tina, of Northeast, Maryland, and Eric J. Deacon, of Perry Hall, Maryland; two grandchildren, Ashton Deacon and Joshua Accardi; a brother, Donald Deacon, of Baltimore; and a sister, Regina Sobus, of Reading. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Stierstorfer.

A viewing is scheduled for 1:00-3:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York.
