Glen W. Billet

Glen W. Billet, age 86, of Hallam, died at 11:21 PM Monday, February 27, 2023, at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Virginia R. (Wildermuth) Billet.

Born January 7, 1937, in York, a son of the late Clarence W. and the late Olive M. (Strickler) Billet, he was a 1954 graduate of York High, proudly served in the United States Army and was retired from Patclin as a chemical salesman. He was very involved in the community, coaching Hellam Little League baseball and basketball, and the adult men’s baseball team. He served on the Hallam Boro Council, Hellam Sewer Authority and time as the Hallam Mayor. Mr. Billet was also a prior member of the Hellam VFW and Cool Creek Par Shooters, and was an avid golfer and traveler, and enjoyed visiting casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be sadly missed by all.

Mr. Billet is survived by his four children, Michael W. Billet, of Wrightsville, Joseph R. Billet, and his wife Melinda, of East Prospect, Mary E. Walter, and her husband Robert, of Hallam, and Catherine L. Benjamin, and her husband Keith, of Wrightsville; six grandchildren, Patrick, Logan, Lucinda, Kyle, Katelyn, and Sophia; and four sisters, Mary Sprenkle, Shirley Silar, Joan Wolfe, and Nancy Flinchbaugh. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence (Jim) Billet; and two sisters, Geraldine Potts and Gloria McCubbin.

Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of private arrangements.
