H. Stanley Rebert Obituary

H. Stanley Rebert, age 81, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 11:39 AM Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Susan M. (Stump) Rebert.

Born May 5, 1943, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Hugh and Salena (Stanley) Rebert, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Brown University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and his Jurisprudence Doctorate at Boston University.  He retired in 2010 as the County of York District Attorney, having first been elected to the position in 1986.  Prior to that he had worked as a Public Defender, beginning that work in 1971. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, The York County Bar Association, York County Fraternal Order of Police, York County Chief of Police Association, the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, 13th Ward Political Club, and former member of the Victory Athletic Association.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Mr. Rebert is survived by a son, Daniel Quentin Rebert, and his wife Tina, of Los Angeles; two daughters, Salena “Lexi” Yetsko, and her husband Travis, of Gettysburg, and Liz Rebert McCaffrey, and her husband Michael, of Gettysburg; and three grandchildren, Kaylee Rebert, Stanley Oscar Yetsko, and Landen McCaffrey.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Zion United Church of Christ, 100 Lafayette Street, York, with The Rev. Katherine Seiler officiating.  A reception with the family will immediately follow.  Private burial will be in Shenberger Cemetery.
