Obituary
Harold J. Grove, age 79, of York, formerly of Mayfield, Ohio, died at 2:05 AM Friday, April 28, 2023, at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born December 28, 1943, in Felton, he was one of 14 children of the late Oscar J. and Sarah G. (Burns) Grove. After high school graduation he joined the US Navy, serving during the Viet Nam War, and as a Reservist after his honorable discharge. He had been employed in the Maintenance Department of Mayfield City Schools, and was a member of the VFW in Cleveland.
Mr. Grove is survived by a daughter, Suzanne DeWerth, and her husband Gregory, of Lyndhurst, Ohio; two sons, Scott Grove, and his wife Pamela, of Oberlin, Ohio, and Steven Grove, of Cleveland; a brother, Palmer; and six sisters, Gloria, Donna, Eva, Joyce, June and Maria. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Dean, Ronald, Burns, Dennis, and Rodger; and a sister, Thelma.
