Helen Hoover, age 86, of York, passed away at 12:14 PM Monday, October 23, 2023, at Kingston Court Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Paul L. Hoover.
Born August 29, 1937, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late William Clyde and Susie Edna (Price) Freed Osbourne, she was a 1957 graduate of Chief Logan High School and retired from Litton Industries (Cole Steel). She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling with her family, and playing bingo at Victory Fire Hall.
Mrs. Hoover is survived by a daughter, Cathy Evans, and her husband Todd, of York; a son, Paul E. Hoover, and his wife Alicia, of York; a stepdaughter, Deb Perkins, and her husband John, of Lincoln City, Oregon; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death three brothers, John, Roy, and Don Freed; and four sisters, Esther Freed, Mary Musser, Naomi Narehood, and Lillian Duncan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2023, at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, with Pastor Don Record officiating. Viewing will be from 1:00-2:00 PM. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
