Helen Virginia (Zahn) Loucks, age 100, of York Township, York, died at 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Wellspan York Hospital. For fifty-five years, she had been the wife of John E. Loucks who died in 2008.

Mrs. Loucks was born in York on December 3, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Eisenhart) Zahn.

She was an alumna of William Penn Senior High School, 1943; York College, B.A. magna cum laude, and Western Maryland College, M.A. She was the elementary librarian at South Eastern School District and retired in 1992.

She was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of the York County Heritage Trust where she volunteered at the Bonham House. She was also a member of the York County Association of School Retirees and had been a member of the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association.

Her daughter Julia, her sister Betty Harrold, and her brother Robert Zahn preceded her in death. Her sister Grace Wohlsen, brother-in-law Theodore Wohlsen, and several nieces and nephews survive her.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church, 29 South George Street, York, with Pastor Sarah Hinlicky Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
