Hilda G. Kern

Hilda G. Kern, age 89, of Newberry Township, Manchester, died at 5:35 PM Monday, March 23, 2026, at Inners Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Ralph Kern, Jr. and the late James R. Herron.

Born April 25, 1936, in Ketsch-Rhein, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Ivo F. and Franziska (Wolf) Laier.

Mrs. Kern is survived by a son, Daniel Herron, and his wife Holly, of Manchester; a stepson, Ralph “Bud” Kern, III, of Florida; a granddaughter, Brittany Ness (Darren), of York; Holly’s children, Brittany, Brandon, and Justin; and two sisters, Rose Hally, of Florida, and Anneliese Pafundi, of New York. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Bossmyer, Jr.; a brother, Edgar Laier; and two sisters, Elisabeth Kalp, and Maria Spall.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
