Hope Marie Cole-Otieno (affectionately known as Hopie), 57, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2024.
Hope was born on December 5, 1967, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Herbert B. Watson, Sr. and the late Henrietta M. (Dickerson) Watson. Hope was a 1987 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. She was a homemaker, displaying wonderful decorating skills. Hope was very outgoing and loved being near the water to pray and meditate, but her greatest passion was serving the Lord and singing for His glory. Hope was a devoted member of Bible Tabernacle Church where she enjoyed singing with the choir and spending time with her church family. Hope truly loved her family, especially her daughter Charity. Hope always had the ability to make anyone smile and feel loved.
Hope is survived by her daughter, Charity Cole; Fur baby, Cha Chi; her brother, Herbert B. Watson, Jr. (Kitina Watson); her sister, Faith M. Heckard (James Heckard) a niece Brittany Berry (Kevin Berry); great nieces, Korein & Lillian Berry; nephew, Justin A. Watson; great nephew, Benjamin Berry and a host of cousins, family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Door of Refuge, 220 West King Street, Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17603. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is assisting with arrangements.
