Jacob Kulp Tyson Obituary

Jacob K. Tyson, age 86, of West Manchester Township, York, died at 3:30 AM Monday, December 1, 2025, at UPMC Memorial. He was the husband of Pat A. Tyson.


Born January 28, 1939, in Creamery, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Harry and Mae (Kulp) Tyson.  He was a professional butcher, retiring from Moyer Packing Company (MOPAC).  He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post #791, Heritage Senior Center, and he attended West York Church of the Brethren.


In addition to his wife of 61 years, Mr. Tyson is survived by a son, Doug J. Tyson, and his wife Beth, of York; a daughter, Wendy S. Currey, and her husband Scott, of Glenville; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jonathan, McKayla, Kailey, Mason, and Connor; and a brother, Willard Tyson, of Souderton. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, Paul Tyson, Margert Tyson, Henry Tyson, Catherine Clemmer, and Laverne Tyson.


Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at West York Church of the Brethren, 5101 Darlington Road, York, with The Rev. Richard Godfrey officiating. Viewing will be 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with military rites present by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.  William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, York, is in charge of arrangements.
