James J. Diffendarfer Jr., age 88, of Mount Wolf, PA went to be with his Heavenly Father at 10:55 AM on Sunday October 17, 2021. He was the husband of Jacqueline Diffendarfer.
Born May 22, 1933 in York, PA, he was a son of the late Hilda (Wilders) and James J. Diffendarfer Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Korean War, and retired as electrical foreman from Campbell Chain Company in 1997. In retirement James gave of his time and talents to the local office of Ministries of India.
Dedicated to his family and to his faith James was an encouragement and source of advice to all of his children and grandchildren.
He enjoyed photography, home improvement projects, and traveling extensively with the love of his life Jacqueline. Among his favorite places visited were Nova Scotia, New England, Florida, Hawaii, and The Holy Lands.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Diffendarfer is survived by a daughter, Lori G. Mayer of York; a son, Joel J. Diffendarfer of Leslie, Michigan; six grandchildren, Justin, Heather, Kathleen, Sarah, Jack and Joel; fifteen great grandchildren and a sister Patricia Platts. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Diffendarfer; a sister, Joyce Trovinger and two grandchildren, James Diffendarfer and Jamie Mayer.
Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, are in charge of private arrangements.
