James E. Hollerbush, age 77, of Conewago Township, Dover, died at 8:11 PM Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Miscericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation in York.  He was the husband of Cynthia L. (Stottlemyer) Hollerbush.  

Born November 28, 1946, son of the late Lester I. and Pearl M. (Wallick) Hollerbush, he retired in 2001 from Harley-Davidson Motor Company, where he worked as a material handler/operator.  Prior to his retirement, he had worked at Therm Air, Precision Components, Allis Chalmers, and Green’s Dairy. James also served for six years in the Army Reserves.    

James built late model stock cars for many years for Hollerbush Racing, where he also served as crew chief for his brother, Samuel Hollerbush.  Together they won more than 40 feature events, 115 second place finishes, and 117 third place finishes. James continued sharing his mechanical skills working with various local racing teams through 2022.  

He was a member of Dover Bethany Global Methodist Church and was a life member of the Victory Athletic Association, Vigilant Fire Company Social Club, Shiloh American Legion, and the Hawk Gunning Club.  He was also a member of Twin Deer Hunting Camp in Cameron County for 55 years. 

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Hollerbush is survived by a son, Steven; two grandsons, Jimy and Justin; two siblings, Samuel R. Hollerbush (Kathy) and Lois A. Eckard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Dover Bethany Global Methodist Church, 4510 Bull Road, Dover, with his Pastor, The Rev. Sal Buonocore, officiating.  Visitation will be 1-2:00 PM. Burial will be in Quickel Cemetery, Zion’s View.  William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, York, is in charge of arrangements.
