James E. Stonebraker, Sr., age 66, of Springettsbury Township, York, died at 12:32 AM Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. He was the husband of Mildred M. (Gibboney) Stonebraker.
Born September 19, 1956, in York, a son of the late James B. and Ruth A. (Royce) Stonebraker, he was employed at Flinchbaugh Engineering, and was a member of Hawks Gunning Club, Pleasureville American Legion, York Rifle Range, and Starview Sportsman Association where he also served as a past president.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, Mr. Stonebraker is survived by a son, James E. Stonebraker, Jr., and his wife Celese, of York; a daughter, Shauna M. Runk, of Inman, South Carolina; four granddaughters, Lexie, Alyssa, Rebekkah, and Kelci; five sisters, Marcia, Donna, Gale, Frances, and Ruth; and a brother, Allen. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Faye, and a brother, Earl.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, with The Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
