Jay R. Strickhouser, age 72, of Delta, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 12:16 AM Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at York Hospital.  He was the husband of Sally Ann (Gochenour) Strickhouser, whom he married on September 20, 1980.

Born November 10, 1950, in York, Jay was a son of the late Dale R. and Flora I. (Housseal) Strickhouser.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud veteran.

Jay worked for the United States Postal Service in the finance department before fulfilling his dream of moving with his wife to the river.  He was a follower of Christ, member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, and enjoyed serving others.

Jay loved his family with all his heart and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and friend.  He enjoyed spending time doing anything outdoors.  He was a successful hunter, an avid fisherman, and a gifted musician.

In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by a daughter, Missy L. Camerote, and her husband Jason, of Downingtown; two sons, Jeffrey D. Strickhouser, and his wife Amanda, of York Haven, and Justin P. Strickhouser, and his wife Jennifer, of Thompsontown; and 11 grandchildren, Lachele, Jason, Dominic, Juliet, Logan, Taylor, Fantasia, Jasmyn, Shaun, Silas, and Sarah.  Jay is also survived by a sister, Patricia I. Mitzel; two brothers, Todd L. Strickhouser, and his wife Janet; and Chris R. Strickhouser, and his wife Deanna.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dale R. Strickhouser and Jerry L. Strickhouser.
