Jay Y. Thornton, age 56, of Springfield Township, Seven Valleys, died at 4:45 Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his residence.

Born November 26, 1968, in York, he was a son of Henry M. Thornton, Jr., of York and the late Shirley A. (Vaught) Thornton and worked as a car salesman.

In addition to his father, Mr. Thornton is survived by two daughters, Casey E. Thornton, of Camp Hill, and Alexis N. Thornton, and her fiancé Brandon Moore, of Whitewright, Texas; three sisters, Leah Thornton, of Dover, Lisa Turner, of York, and Wendy McNeil, of Syracuse, New York; and a brother, Thomas Thornton, of York.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2025, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with the Rev. Stanley Reep officiating.  A reception with the family will immediately follow.  Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
