Jean M. Gerst

Jean M. “Jeanie” (Kline) Gerst, age 67, of York, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Gardens at Camp Hill.

Born August 29, 1955, at York Hospital, she was the daughter of Shirley (Zimmer) Kline, of York, and the late John Kline.  Her last place of employment was Northrop Grumman (Westinghouse) in Maryland.  She loved Penn State Football, the Boston Red Sox, and Green Bay Packers.  She also loved the mountains in Potter County with her family.

Jean is survived by her son, Joseph W. Gerst, Jr., and his fiancé Julie Webber; granddaughter, Joella Renee; step grandson, Jaxson; a brother, John Kline, Jr., and his wife Jennifer; a niece, Katie Kline; nephew, Shaun Kline; and grand niece Sophia Kline.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Mount Zion United Church of Christ, 1054 Ridgewood Road, York, with The Rev. Danielle Neff officiating.  Visitation will be 10-11:00.  Private burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to Mount Zion United Church of Christ, 1054 Ridgewood Road, York PA 17406.
